Sustainability in Business: Insights from Our Managing Director
We have all seen how crucial supply chain integrity is, yet many businesses still don’t prioritise it. Relying on sourcing agents or buying houses without proper oversight is a risk. I believe it’s essential to clearly understand the entire product journey to safeguard a brand’s reputation, credibility, and bottom line.
Embracing Transparency
In today’s world, transparency is not optional—it’s expected. Consumers want to know where their products come from, and I’m committed to sustainable practices that foster trust and loyalty. As a carbon-neutral company, we’ve made sustainable manufacturing a cornerstone of our supply chain integrity, and I’m proud to say we’re ahead of the curve.
The 2013 Rana Plaza disaster is a stark reminder of what happens when supply chain oversight fails. Thousands of families were affected, and some of the world’s most recognisable brands found themselves entangled in a scandal that cost them millions in damages and untold reputational harm.
This tragedy was a turning point for the industry, reinforcing the need for transparency and ethical practices. It’s one of the reasons I’m so passionate about ensuring that ØRN operates with integrity at every level.

How ØRN Leads in Sustainability
At ØRN, sustainability is at the heart of what we do. We’ve built our business on a foundation of full transparency and traceability, ensuring that every step of the manufacturing process meets ethical and environmental standards. Here’s how we do it:
- We trace the entire journey of raw materials, from their source to the final product.
- We document every step, perform volume reconciliations, and segregate materials to maintain accountability.
- Our processes guarantee compliance with industry standards and certifications, giving our clients confidence in our ethical sourcing practices.
Lessons Learnt in Traceability
Limited traceability in the textile industry exposes businesses to risks like unethical practices, negative publicity, and brand damage. That’s why I’ve made it my mission to ensure that our workwear is not only durable and high-quality but also responsibly produced. We’ve aligned ØRN with the most important certifications in the industry, including:
- Global Recycled Standard
- Recycled Claim Standard
- Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX®
- United Nations Global Compact
- Carbon Neutral
- ISO9001- Management Systems
- ISO14001 – Environmental Management Systems
- ISO45001 – Occupational Health & Safety Systems
These certifications aren’t just checkboxes—they’re proof of our dedication to ethical and sustainable practices.
Partnering for a Sustainable Future
At ØRN, we partner with procurement managers, distributors, and supply chain leaders to incorporate sustainability into their sourcing strategies. I take pride in knowing that our certified workwear solutions help businesses confidently meet their sustainability goals while demonstrating accountability to stakeholders and clients.
Why Responsible Clothing Matters
Responsible clothing is not merely a trend—it is an essential component of securing our planet’s future. The sustainability of our environment hinges on collective efforts to make more conscientious choices. By selecting ØRN, you are not only investing in durable and aesthetically appealing workwear but also contributing to a broader movement toward a more sustainable and ethically responsible industry.
I am deeply committed to redefining industry standards and demonstrating that sustainability and business success are inherently interconnected. At ØRN, we uphold full traceability for every garment we produce, ensuring that every step of the process aligns with our commitment to transparency, ethical practices, and your trust.
